Every Friday, Pud is going to drink beer. He is also going to consume some part of pop-culture.
Movies, TV, comics; whatever he fancies. Then he is going to smash them together for you!
Yellow Dog has only been around a few years but in that short time they’ve made some very tasty brews. A consistent theme of their can designs is their yellow dog logo along with their dog-related beer names. There’s everything from Chase My Tail Pale Ale to Retriever Golden Ale to Shake a Paw Smoked Porter! Play Dead is one of their original brews that has been there from the beginning. It’s a no muss, no fuss classic American IPA, right down to its clear golden hue. Despite the hazy and super fruity craze as of late, a beer like this will always be in style.
John Wick. Directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch.
Keanu Reeves has had a very interesting career. He’s managed to stay relevant for a long time, sometimes disappearing from the mainstream only to resurface every few years. From Bill and Ted, to The Matrix, to John Wick, he’s been able to be a part of characters that have managed to break through into the zeitgeist, remembered long after the other creators associated with these characters have been – let’s be honest – unfortunately and mostly forgotten by the general audience. That said, John Wick is another of these great characters that will have staying power within popular culture. The film is just balls-out fun. The action feels new and kinetic, and the world building, while only touching upon the greater world of John Wick in this first film, which would be greatly expanded in the next two films, is a lot of fun and completely immersive in ways other franchises have failed to do. I have enjoyed every John Wick film, and while I have a favorite order, to me this franchise is like pizza. I have preferences, but in the end it’s still pizza and I’m still going to enjoy it.
WHY THEY PAIR UP
John Wick comes out of retirement because they stole his car and killed his dog. Yellow Dog, John Wick. John Wick… meet Yellow Dog.
